Sustainability Within Ecover: How We Do Business
While we at Ecover are enthusiastic about the fact that we make highly effective ecological washing and cleaning products, we are equally proud of our company’s commitment to sustainability in every facet of the production and distribution of those products.
Our factories—with cathedral-like vaulted wood ceilings made from fast-growing sustainable woods—are a glorious testament to this commitment. Not only are they constructed with recycled or renewable materials, but they use far less energy and water than typical factories. Our machines have energy efficient motors, our lights go off automatically when facilities are not in use, and our energy comes from a mix of renewable sources.
Even our distribution system reflects our commitment to sustainability. In 2007 we built a second ecological factory in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Northern France which is close to the UK where Ecover products are a favorite in thousands of households. This helped us reduce transportation costs. Moreover, at Ecover, we screen our suppliers for the sourcing of their materials so that raw materials comply with strict Ecover specifications.
The list of ways Ecover fulfills our progressive environmental policy continues. From the factories where Ecover products are made to how we get them to you, we make it our life’s work to do business in a highly sustainable manner. It’s important to us…and for the environment.
